Good Designs Last Forever

Guess what is making a comeback in the domestic kitchen scene? Surprisingly enough, it’s the unassuming meat grinder. Serious cooks and home chefs all over are buying them and using them to process meat and poultry, rather than buying ready made goods. Remember the one grandma used to make delicious pies and sausages, using her secret recipes? Well, they look exactly the same as hers did. Admittedly you can get the up-dated electric version if you so wish, but the manual ones are identical in looks to the original models. Amongst all the sleek, ultra-modern appliances, the unpretentious grinder looks a little out of place. I quite like the fact that it is pretty much unchanged from the ones granny used to use. We can’t say that about too much else nowadays. It also proves that a good design lives forever and that the simplest things work best. Why fix it if it ain’t broke?
