Product Placement Logo Comes into Effect

After years of resistance from the UK’s office of communications (Ofcom), product placement is finally on UK TV screens. Well ok, it always was due to the regular importing of shows and movies from the US, but for the first time, product placement will be used to increase the budgets and Ivory Backscratcher collections of UK TV executives working on British shows. So long as they’re not on the BBC (or in layman’s terms ‘so long as they were rubbish to begin with’.) The main act of compliance will be to show one of the most striking logo designs of recent times: a black and white ‘P’ within another P. It’s actually a pretty recognisable symbol, which is odd for modern logo design. It almost certainly means that two weeks after its wider circulation, we’ll be finding a million and one examples of the logo already in use. Well, you can’t win them all I suppose.
